MyPI Nebraska Instructor Workshop Set for March 23 in Omaha
A My Youth Preparedness Initiative (MyPI) Nebraska instructor workshop will be held Friday, March 23 at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center on the University of Nebraska Omaha campus, 6400 South, University Drive Road North. The workshop is 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The instructor workshop is for any teacher, teen group leader, or out-of-school program leader who wants to incorporate disaster preparedness and safety in course or program offerings.
MyPI Nebraska is an innovative disaster preparedness curriculum for teens (ages 13-19). Participants build life-saving skill sets, learn about careers, and develop emergency kits and family communication plans. Participants also complete a service project called Prep+6.
The workshop will include:
- Overview of the MyPI Nebraska curriculum
- Logistics and information on how to deliver MyPI Nebraska
- Ideas to increase participant and local partner engagement
The workshop fee is $25, and it includes the curriculum notebook and lunch. The registration deadline is March 16. Register online at regonline.com/mypi
